Cultivating MOntana's New Frontier

Ravens are intelligent birds who constantly observe what's around them.
White Raven Winery emerged in a similar way.
Owner Dan Murphy spent a decade running a mobile wine bottling business in California. Through this, he experienced hundreds of wineries, processes and tasting rooms, witnessing both the glorious aspects and the knee-deep-mud moments of making wine. In all of these, Dan saw a growing opportunity he couldn't shake: he wanted to become an artisan with wine, and he wanted to do so in his hometown of Columbia Falls, Montana.
And yes, it is possible.

For those who may question the grape-to-glass concept in Montana, that is known for its frigid and long-lasting winters, here is a tidbit: there is a grapevine that can handle 30 below temperatures.                      is indigenous to North America, and this sturdy vine is the source of our born-and-raised Montana wines.

When Dan discovered there were many grape varieties born of this hardy, lesser-known vine in 2014, seeds the White Raven Winery were taking root. He purchased the property for the winery in 2017, and in 2021, White Raven officially opened it Tasting Room and Cellar doors.

White Raven Winery is owned and operated by local Montanans, born and raised here, who are as committed to the community of Columbia Falls as they are to the Winery.
